Henry Ford, the American businessman, once said ‘If you think you can or you think you can’t, either way you’re right.’ And it’s the belief that you can achieve anything by ‘programming’ your mind for success’ that drives UCan Training.
For the last five years I have devoted my time and energy to helping organisations develop their young female talent through my coaching and training programmes. Research shows that young women are often lacking in self-confidence and self-esteem which prevents them from speaking up in meetings, having tricky conversations and generally putting themselves forward. Last year I conducted exploratory research using a sample of 12 young women from two global organisations, to explore different themes and approaches which can help develop self-confidence and leadership capabilities in young women. The findings show the importance of giving women a psychologically safe environment in which to develop skills, share knowledge and experiences, and build self-belief. Yesterday I welcomed a new group of women from Oracle to my Power of You programme. Over the next three months they will learn how to have a winning mindset, including overcoming limiting beliefs; how to present their ideas with impact being aware of the importance of words, voice and body language; how to assert themselves, manage conflict and have difficult conversations; learn tools to help with decision making; use a simple coaching model to have open discussions with clients and teams; how to make connections and build relationships and the seven steps to setting and achieving short, medium and long term goals.
If you are looking to develop your female talent then do please get in touch by direct message, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or give me a call on 01252 792811
Yesterday I enjoyed presenting with Nick Saunders, our new one-day workshop for junior consultants on Oracle’s graduate programme. A fun action-packed day with quizzes, presentations and prizes in the morning, as we learned about how they have implemented the skills learned from our previous workshop.
In the afternoon I shared the ups and downs of my working career; the importance of building resilience; surrounding yourself by the right mentors and how to set and achieve short, medium and long term career and personal goals. Excited to see what happens next with this new generation of talent. ... See MoreSee Less
Yesterday I did my first live online presentation from my home in the UK to Olten in Switzerland at the Coaching Meets Research conference. The 3 main themes were Organisation, Digitisation and Design.
My contribution came under Design, having designed and delivered a six-week online coaching programme focused on talent development and leaders of the future.
The technology worked, I used Zoom, the video conferencing tool. The audience enjoyed learning about the benefits of online coaching and left knowing how to introduce online coaching into their own practices.
I am looking to work with an organisation in September / October who are interested in piloting individual and group online coaching. If you are interested or know anyone who could be, please direct message me, send an email to email@example.com or give me a call on 01252 792811 ... See MoreSee Less
