Have you ever been taught HOW to network?

Networking is one of those essential business skills that often goes unspoken — we’re just expected to know how to do it. But like any skill, it takes practice and development.

At its core, networking is about asking questions, listening with genuine curiosity, and building real relationships. It’s not just about collecting business cards or making connections for the sake of it. It’s about connecting with people on a personal level and investing time into fostering those relationships.

While the word “networking” can sound stiff and formal, the truth is, it’s simply about people getting to know people. It’s about finding mentors, role models, and new perspectives that can help you grow in your career.

Being part of a network isn’t just about receiving — it’s about giving, too. A strong network is built on mutual support: lifting others up while also reaching back to help those who are just starting out.

Here with my lovely friend Rebecca Brennan an amazing networker who continues to lift and inspire me.

What are your thoughts on networking? How do you approach it?
